AMSS

Acute Mountain Sickness Score — right in your pocket

AMSS is a practical digital companion to the 2018 Lake Louise Acute Mountain Sickness Score (AMSS) Questionnaire (NCBI reference). Acute mountain sickness (AMS) is a syndrome affecting non-acclimatised individuals who ascend to high altitudes, typically above 2,500 metres, caused by decreased atmospheric oxygen partial pressure inducing hypoxia. AMSS puts the validated clinical tool at your fingertips — whether you are a hiker, mountaineer, expedition medic, or wilderness guide.

  • Based on the validated 2018 Lake Louise AMS Score framework
  • App settings persist across sessions for uninterrupted use
  • All data processed and stored locally — nothing leaves your device
  • No account, no tracking, no advertisements
  • Regularly maintained — last updated March 2026

Upa Intervals

Sequence training timer for sports, yoga & wellness

Upa Intervals is a fully customisable interval timer built for sequence training across sports and wellness disciplines — including yoga, circuit training, HIIT, rehabilitation, and meditation. It serves as a companion to the upcoming Upa app, scheduled for release in late 2026. Activities labelled "Rest" are highlighted in a distinctive red colour so you never lose your place in a sequence. A built-in Mattro metronome runs at 50 bpm — corresponding to one mātrā, an ancient Indian unit of time — to support rhythmic, mindful practice.

  • Create and edit unlimited custom activity sequences
  • Rest activities highlighted in red for instant visual cue
  • Export & import sequences to share with other users
  • Mattro metronome at 50 bpm (1 mātrā ≈ 1.2 s intervals)
  • Automatic backup of application settings across sessions
  • No data collected or transmitted — fully offline

Pubbr

The EPUB reader Android deserved — with real JavaScript support

In the digital age, an increasing number of educational resources are published in the universal EPUB-3 format, taking advantage of the interactivity that JavaScript enables. On Android, however, most EPUB readers offer minimal JavaScript support — leaving interactive textbooks, simulations, and educational tools inaccessible on mobile. Pubbr was built specifically to fill that gap. Its intentionally clean and minimalist interface keeps the focus on the content, while under the hood it handles a wide range of JavaScript features that bring EPUB-3 documents fully to life.

  • Extensive JavaScript support for interactive EPUB-3 documents
  • Open .epub files directly from your file manager
  • Keyword search, bookmarks, themes, and font-size adjustment
  • Bundled Demo.epub showcasing JS capabilities
  • External links disabled by design for security
  • Open source — available on GitHub (lavrentius-dev/pubbr)

Poteca

The rebirth of Dynamic Signaling Maps™ — on Android

Poteca is an upcoming Android app from LAVRENTIUS.DEV rooted in a remarkable piece of bioinformatics history. In the early 2000s, a web-based software called Dynamic Signaling Maps™ (DSM) was developed by Hippron Physiomics for the dynamic visualization and analysis of cell signal transduction pathways. (Hippron takes its name from the hippron, a time-traveling creature from Gérard Klein's novel Les Seigneurs de la Guerre — and "pegasone" in the English translation — hence the com.pegasone package family.) DSM used 3D layered directed graphs to visualize complex biological networks, and was cited in scholarly work alongside databases such as KEGG and BioCarta. Now, that legacy is being reborn as a native Android app under the name Poteca. Poteca will be free to download, with optional paid features for advanced functionality.

  • Syntax Checker — validates custom signaling pathway events encoded in the symbolic language DSML, covering five fundamental classes of signaling events
  • Converter — exports DSML documents to GraphViz scripts, producing editable and scalable vector pathway maps
  • Pathway Analysis Tool — predicts the impact of activating or inhibiting selected pathway elements on the rest of the network
  • Dynamic Extraction Tool — visualizes metabolic pathways extracted from time-series RNA microarray data

A bioinformatics legacy, reborn on Android

Dynamic Signaling Maps™ was a pioneering web-based tool for visualizing cell signaling transduction pathways using 3D layered directed graphs, cited in academic literature alongside KEGG and BioCarta (2002–2004). Poteca brings its four core modules — Syntax Checker, Converter, Pathway Analysis, and Dynamic Extraction — to Android. The app is free to download, with optional paid features for advanced functionality.

Relevant to systems biology, proteomics & drug discovery research.
